What is the Edmonton Bar Association?The Edmonton Bar Association (EBA) is a non-profit society formed in 1986. We are a volunteer-run organization. We strive to promote collegiality among the Edmonton bar by hosting social events and raising funds for charitable legal causes. Our social events include the Annual Judges Dinner, Golf Tournament, Bowling Night, and Holiday Party. Our charitable causes include the Eileen Nash Memorial Award, Inns of Court, scholarships for U of A Law Students, and donations to legal organizations. |
Statement on the passing of the Honourable Ritu Khullar, Chief Justice of Alberta
The Edmonton Bar Association is saddened to learn about the passing of the Honourable Ritu Khullar, Chief Justice of Alberta. Chief Justice Khullar was an incredible advocate and jurist, who was immensely dedicated to public service and the administration of justice. The EBA offers its sincere condolences to the Chief Justice's family, friends, and colleagues.
Message from Tiffany Stokes, 2026 President
I am very proud to be the incoming president of the Edmonton Bar Association, and I am grateful for the support and encouragement of our membership and Board of Directors.
First, I would like to give a huge thank you to Carly Androschuk, who is our Past President and has set a high standard of hard work and excellence. I am in awe of Carly's work ethic, kindness, and professionalism. If I can achieve at least half of what Carly has done for the EBA, then I will consider my tenure as president a success!
Second, I'd like to thank the membership and Edmonton bar. Our legal community is something to be cherished. We are a group of dedicated lawyers and members of the legal profession who take our roles seriously and also find many ways to give back to our community. Because of your support, the EBA is able to generously donate to worthwhile legal causes such as the Edmonton Community Legal Centre and annual scholarships for law students at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law.
Lastly, I am grateful for the efforts and (many) hours of work done by our Board of Directors. This is a 100% volunteer role and our Board dedicates a lot of time and energy in making the EBA a successful organization. You all represent the best of the best!
